A woman in Vancouver called police after she found an online ad offering her baby up for sale, using Facebook photos she had posted of the infant online. Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Steve Perret said, "To me, this looks like a case of somebody's twisted or perverted sense of humor, by posting these types of ads trying to sell somebody else's child. Additionally there was an ad where he was trying to sell a dead dog." The ad has been removed and police reportedly have a suspect. Perret said that the mother had never adjusted her Facebook privacy settings, which meant her photos were viewable -- and downloadable -- for anyone. He added, "Unfortunately, all too often people put too much information on the Internet, which can result in things like identity theft." (UPI)
